What’s it all about and what will we be doing on the day?
Isle of Architecture is an exciting year-long celebration of the built environment, encouraging appreciation of the Isle of Man’s rich and varied architectural heritage and exploring innovation in its future.
The BIG Draw is a national festival that celebrates drawing. This year it is all about STEAM powered draws. Sketch a Scientific theory, trace some Technology, etch like an Engineer or draw Mathematical equations with masking tape. The choice is yours! Together, We will embrace STEAM Power by showing that creativity enables innovation.
In this workshop we will be using historical and current photographs of architectural landscapes in the Isle of Man. We will be learning about the significant these buildings have on the history of the island and how things have changed to these built up environments. Through drawing we will explore where the future in architecture will lead us.
We will be using these photographs as a template for our drawing, incorporating electrical circuits, powered toys and i-stop motion to create a short animated film.
